Filing period set to begin for Logan County offices

The statewide candidate filing period begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, said Erin Dorio, Secretary of the Logan County Election Board. Four candidates have given a verbal commitment to file for the Logan County Sheriff’s race.

Filing will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The deadline for filing as a candidate is 5 p.m. Friday, April 15.

Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board in Oklahoma City. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.

Dorio said that the following county offices will be filled this year: County Clerk, Court Clerk, Commissioner District 2, and Sherriff.

Sheriff Jim Bauman, along with Veronica Thomas, Michael Lanoy and Ben McHand, have said they will fill out the required paperwork for office. Bauman seeks a third term.

Current District 2 County Commissioner Mike Pearson announced he will be seeking a third term.
