Fire crews sent out to popular eating spot

Just after 12:30 a.m. the Guthrie Fire Department responded to a popular eating establishment after a Guthrie police officer over heard what turned out to be a fire alarm ringing in the early morning.

Fire crews were called to Stables Cafe, located at Division and Noble, to the kitchen area, where it appears packaged bread on a crate was to close to a stove causing it to smoke and setting off one over head water sprinkler.

The stove was turned off when firefighters entered the kitchen leaving to believe the heat from the stove may have cause the packaged bread to begin smoking.

There were no visible flames at any time.

Crew members from the fire team where on the scene for approximately 15 minutes.

There was no one inside the building and no injuries were reported.
