Firefighters extinguish shop fire behind residence

The Guthrie Fire Department responded swiftly to a shop fire behind a residence shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday.

Upon arrival in the 1900 block of Kyle Dr., light smoke was seen coming from a metal building located behind the home. Fire crews quickly entered the structure and were able to extinguish the flames before they could spread further.

Woodcrest and Oak Cliff fire departments assisted the Guthrie crew.

While the exact cause of the fire remains undetermined, officials noted that a vehicle had recently been parked inside the building. Additionally, reports indicated that a small controlled fire was found within the structure.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident. Fire officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
