Lady Jays Basketball to host Elite Camp, Kids Camp

Guthrie Head Coach Breck Clark finishes with a time out with her team inside the GHS gymnasium.

Future Guthrie Lady Jays basketball players will have an opportunity to fine-tune their skills with Head Coach Breck Clark later this month. Then in June, it will be the younger kids’ chance to learn and enhance their skills.

The Lady Jays Elite Camp is set for May 30 through June 1 (Tuesday through Thursday) inside the school’s gymnasium. The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The camp is open for female student-athletes entering the fifth through eighth grades. (See the first photo below).

“This camp is for competitors who want to start preparing for basketball at the high school level,” the second-year head coach said.

Athletes will learn drills that the varsity team does every day in their workouts, along with skill work, scoring under pressure, and defensive concepts and rotations.

The cost of the camp is $55 with mail-in registration or $60 at the door.

Next month, the program will conduct the second annual Kids Camp June 19-21 and is open to boys and girls entering kindergarten through the sixth grade.

Registration for that camp is $55. See the second photo below.

All mail-in registration should be mailed to Guthrie Girls Basketball at 200 Crooks Dr. (Guthrie, Okla. 73044).
