The Community Foundation of Central Electric Cooperative board recently approved a $1,500 grant to God’s Food Bank. The grant will help provide holiday grocery items for families and individuals in Logan County.
God’s Food Bank, located in Guthrie, Okla., strives to provide nutritious food for Logan County residents and impact their overall health in a positive way. Currently serving more than 350 families per week, the food bank offers a grocery store experience by providing clients with a shopping cart and allowing them to make their own selections.
In addition to the core functions of the organization, God’s Food Bank recently partnered with various community groups to increase donations of baby food and baby supplies. The food bank also began a new program to provide special snacks to an after-school tutoring group at Guthrie Upper Elementary School. For more information, visit GodsFoodBank.org.
