GPS recognizes three employees of the month to BOE

Three members of the Guthrie school district were recognized for their work in the district on Monday evening at the Board of Education meeting.

Jean Watts, Clay Drake and Brenda Brandon were honored with Employees of the Month.

For the month of September, Jean Watts, the district’s personnel clerk, was nominated and presented by Anita Paul, who also serves as the activity fund clerk, as the Support Employee of the Month.

Guthrie High School’s English teacher Angie Simonton presented Clay Drake as the Certified Employee of the Month. Drake is the high school agriculture instructor.

For the month of August, Cotteral Elementary special education teacher Brenda Brandon was presented the Certified Employee of the Month. She was nominated and presented by Cotteral secretary Stacey Johnston.

Each recipient was awarded with a plaque and $25 Sonic gift card from the Guthrie Lions Club.
