Graduation plans have been established for the Class of 2024 for Guthrie High School, including returning to Jelsma Stadium.
Commencement will be on May 17, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.
The Lazy E Arena has been utilized in years past for the ceremony but was unavailable this year due to a prior scheduled event.
Superintendent Dr. Mike Simpson said if weather conditions do not allow for a Friday night graduation the ceremony would be rescheduled to the following evening (Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m.).
If the weather does not allow the second night, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the GHS gymnasium with limited attendance.
“That’s why we always prefer to be at the Lazy E because that takes the weather out of the equation,” Dr. Mike Simpson said in his monthly comments to the Board of Education.
