Grandmother arrested after barricading herself and grandson

A Logan County grandma is behind bars after she barricaded her grandchild inside her home on Saturday. In addition, the grandmother and the child’s uncle are accused of assaulting the baby’s mother.

Logan County deputies responded to 13900 S. Sooner Road and says Ashley Long took her seven-year-old son to visit his grandmother Tami Long, 46, and his uncle Brandon Long.

According to reports, Tami Long, who was reported to be intoxicated, got into an argument with Ashley Long which later turned physical when Tami Long and Brandon Long began assaulting Ashley Long and locking her out of the home.

Shortly after, Brandon Long left the scene, but Tami Long remained barricaded inside the home with the child.

The Sheriff’s Office negotiators came to the home and talked Tami Long into releasing the child.  Shortly thereafter, Tami Long was taken into custody without forcible entry into the residence.

Tami Long was found to have two outstanding Oklahoma County warrants, both for suspended sentences.

Tami Long is currently being held in the Logan County jail for the warrants and domestic abuse. Charges for kidnapping are pending.
