The Guardians of Guthrie, once again, came together to surprise a family at Christmas time with gifts for an unknowing family. This season was a true surprise for one family.
The motorcycle club’s secretary Alana Lawson has helped organized the program and was set to head out and deliver gifts to this year’s deserving family.
Turns out, the surprise was on her.
“I was notified that we would be delivering gifts to an amazing family that had overcome numerous struggles this year,” Lawson said. “When I arrived I was let in on the secret that the deserving family chosen was my own.”
Lawson being nine months pregnant and due the day after Christmas was overcome with emotion.
“I was in tears to learn that they had gathered together to make this a special Christmas for us even with all the chaos and crazy circumstances.”
Lawson says the surprise was a “huge” blessing for her family and was grateful.
“My kiddos were ecstatic and very appreciative,” Lawson said.
The motorcycle community are great people with huge hearts for the most part. We here in Guthrie are fortunate to have a few of those civic minded groups among us participating, donating, giving and making this a better place to live.
