In a Special Meeting held by the Guthrie Board of Education on Tuesday, the board announced their hire for an administrative position level that opened up just last week.
Doug Ogle was promoted from the principal position at Guthrie Junior High to the Executive Director of Personnel and Secondary Education.
The position became available after Chad Wilson’s resignation was approved by the BOE. Wilson accepted the superintendent’s position at Dover Public Schools just last week.
Ogle held the Guthrie principal’s job for one year after being hired from Blackwell Public Schools where he spent the previous 15 years.
Before going into administration, Ogle taught Geography, American History, Keyboarding and Physical Education. He also spent time coaching.
Ogle graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1995 and completed his masters degree from Southwestern University in 2005.
