The National Federation of State High School Associations has named a Guthrie coach as their Coach of the Year.

Guthrie High School head boy’s golf coach Ric Meshew has been selected as the 2017-18 Oklahoma Coach of the Year for boys golf.

He was nominated by the Oklahoma Secondary School Athletic Association (OSSAA) as the most deserving recipient.

Meshew, a member of the Guthrie High School Hall of Fame, most recently helped lead the Jays golf team to the 2018 Class 5A state championship.

The coach has won eight state championships during his tenure at Guthrie.
