Guthrie Football lands three Class 5A All-Stars

Post season honors continue to roll in for the Guthrie football program.

Head Coach Kelly Beeby announced three Bluejays were selected to the Class 5A All-Star team, including seniors Rowdy Reihs, JaRon Pryor and Chance Whitt.

Reihs, who signed to play college baseball with Northern Oklahoma College in Enid, was a force in the middle of the Jays defense at linebacker. Reihs was named to the first team District 5A-2 defensive team. In his three year career, Reihs finished with 244 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions.

Reihs has been selected as an alternate for the Oklahoma Coaches All-State football game.

Whitt, who was named to the First-Team Offense for District 5A-2, hauled in 25 catches in 2015, including seven touchdown grabs. Whitt is expected to be a preferred walk on at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami, Okla.

Pryor was named District 5A-2’s First Team Athlete of the Year after finishing his senior season with 49 tackles and five sacks. He has committed to play at NEO and is expected to sign with the Norseman on Feb. 3. Related story: ‘Jays Jaron Pryor named to OCA All-State team
