The Guthrie High School girls’ tennis team capped off a strong season with a competitive showing at the Class 5A State Tournament, highlighted by a medal-winning performance in No. 1 doubles.

Aspen Mitchell and Rylee Tobin placed 5th in the No. 1 doubles bracket, earning a spot on the podium and distinguishing themselves as the only public school team among the medalists. Their only loss came in the second round to eventual finalists Holland Hall. Mitchell and Tobin bounced back to defeat Carl Albert in the final round to claim 5th place.

In No. 2 doubles, Haven Hudson and Hollie Mitchell fought their way to a 7th-place finish, while singles players Lola Brown and Kenzie Hardesty both bowed out after tough first-round matchups on Saturday morning.

The girls’ strong showing at state continues to showcase the depth and determination of Guthrie’s tennis program.
