Guthrie Job Corps Center celebrates 20 years of Military Appreciation Day

The Guthrie Job Corps Center celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Military Appreciation Day on May 7 with students, staff, veterans, and military representatives gathering for the annual event.

This year’s keynote speaker was Brigadier General Colby B. Wyatt, Director of Joint Staff for the Oklahoma National Guard. The occasion carried added significance as General Wyatt is the son of retired Lieutenant General Harry M. “Bud” Wyatt III, who served as the inaugural speaker for the event in 2005 while serving as Oklahoma’s Adjutant General.

The ceremony included participation from recruiters and representatives from the Oklahoma Army National Guard, U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and U.S. Air Force. Military personnel from Fort Sill and Lieutenant Colonel Corttesio also attended the event.

Following the ceremony, staff and student veterans, along with students participating in the Fort Sill recruitment partnership, joined active military members for a commemorative photo with General Wyatt.
