Guthrie man recovering following vehicle accident

A Guthrie man was admitted into a Oklahoma City hospital in critical condition following a single vehicle accident over the weekend in Kingfisher County.

The personal injury accident happened on Saturday approximately two miles north of Hennessey on US-81 at 9:30 p.m.

Inside the vehicle was three adults and a 4-year-old child.

According to the report composed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2015 Toyota Tundra driven by Benjamin Millis, 31 of Waukomis, was southbound on the highway. For unknown reason the vehicle left the roadway to the right striking a utility pole.

The Toyota rolled an undetermined amount of time, coming to rest in a field.

Bonnie Millis, 27 of Waukomis, was treated and released along with the child after being transported to an Enid hospital.

However, Michael Porter, 26 of Guthrie, was transported by a medical helicopter to OU Medical Center with a head injury. He was admitted in critical condition.

The highway was shut down to traffic for 50 minutes.

The incident remains under investigation with OHP and the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.
