Guthrie Police find sex offender following blocked call

Bookmark and Share

The Guthrie Police Department investigated a registered sex offender after a block call was made to a Guthrie nursing home.

Eddie Ronald Shuerger, 43, was questioned by detectives, and later admitted to making random phone calls for sexual gratification while under drugs.

Shuerger will soon face a charge of lewd and harassing phone calls.

Shuerger, who will be a lifetime sex offender, called the Willow Creek Nursing Home and made graphic and explicit comments to a female, who had answered the phone.

He made references to the name Kimberly, and that she was not in school and the consequences for not being in school.

“He waits until a female answers the phone then goes into lewd role-playing of some sort,” Guthrie Lt. Mark Bruning said.

Bruning said authorities checked six school districts for a child named Kimberly, but did not locate a sexual abuse victim.

The Oklahoma Sex and Violent Crime Offender Registry shows Shuerger was convicted in 2001 of lewd acts with a child and questioned in 2007 after two middle schoolers reported he was following them to school.

Bruning asks if anyone suspects getting a sexually charged call from Eddie Shuerger are urged to notify authorities.
