Members of the Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Charles Davis, 10-15-1976, of Wewoka, Oklahoma on July 7th.

Charles Davis was caught by the Guthrie Police Task Force.

The arrest was the result of an undercover investigation by a Guthrie Police Task Force member into the sharing of child pornography over the Internet.

Through the investigation, it was determined the child pornography was being shared from an insecure open wireless Internet service at the Heritage Inn in Fairview, Oklahoma.

The Guthrie Police Task Force member contacted ICAC Task Force members assigned to the District 26 District Attorney’s Office and the Woods County Sheriff’s Office.

Although the wireless was insecure and open, investigators were able to track down the specific room and computer used by Davis to distribute child pornography. With the assistance of the Woods County Sheriff’s Office and the Major County Sheriff’s Office, task force members took Davis into custody and booked him into the Major County Jail. He was booked on charges of Distributing Child Pornography over the Internet and Violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Bond was set at $500,00.00. Management at the Heritage Inn were cooperative during the investigation.

The following was entered by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
