Guthrie Schools need test drive participants

On Saturday, August 12, 2017 the public is invited to participate in the annual Buick test-drive event that coincides with “Meet the Bluejays” which helps raise up to $10,000 for the Guthrie Football Boosters and Guthrie Educational Foundation.

Money raised will be used to help with classroom grants in the spring and equipment for the football program.

“We sponsor this program each year to help our local educators do their jobs more efficiently and effectively,” said Megan Vance, Vice President of Vance Auto Group. “Our involvement with Buick is also an opportunity for volunteers to drive, what we know to be, remarkable autos and SUVs.”

Test drives will be conducted from 2 – 6 p.m. north of the “ROCK” located at 200 East Harrison . Each participant will drive a new Buick provided by John Vance Auto Group in Guthrie. There is no cost or obligation, and everyone with a current driver’s license is encouraged to participate and attend the cookout before “Meet the Bluejays” at 6 p.m. Each participant’s test drive will contribute to the goal of $10,000.

“We appreciate the support John Vance Auto Group provides every year for the Guthrie Football Boosters and Guthrie Educational Foundation. Their commitment to Guthrie Public Schools over the years has provided thousands of dollars that goes back to the students and teachers”, said Doug Ogle, Ex. Director of Personnel/Secondary Education for Guthrie Public Schools.
