Guthrie tennis teams take second in Suburban Conference

The Lady Jays and BlueJay tennis teams each captured second place in the Suburban Conference Tennis Tournament on April 20.

Girls #1 Singles Madison Mize placed 4th

In the first round she defeated El Reno 6-1, 6-1

In the second round she lost to Carl Albert 6-2, 6-0

In her round for third she lost to Chickasha 6-4, 6-1

Girls #2 Singles Trista LeGrande placed 2nd

In her first round she defeated Chickasha 6-1, 6-1

In the second round she defeated Shawnee 6-3, 6-2

In the finals she lost to Carl Albert 6-1, 6-0

Girls #1 Doubles Makaya Coker and Kamber Smedley placed 1st

In the first round they defeated Western Hts 6-1, 6-0.

In the second round they defeated Piedmont 7-5, 7-5

In the finals they defeated Carl Albert in three set, 4-6, 6-4, 6-0

Girls #2 Doubles Brianna Berryman and Ryan Robbins

They had a bye in the first round.  In the second round they defeated Chickasha 6-1, 6-0

In the finals they defeated Carl Albert 7-6, 7-6

Boys #1 Singles Aaron Hartley placed 2nd

In the first round he had a bye, in the second round he defeated Carl Albert 6-3, 6-2.  In the finals he lost to Chickasha 6-4, 6-0.

Boys #2 Singles Caden Hopfer placed 2nd

In the first round he had a bye, in the second round he defeated Western Heights 6-2, 6-4

In the finals he lost to Carl Albert 7-5, 7-5

Boys #1 Doubles Kevin Blackston and Brandon LaMarche placed 4th

In the first round they defeated El Reno 6-4, 6-1.  In the second round they lost to Western Hts 6-4, 6-7, 3-6.  In the match for third they lost to Piedmont 2-6, 6-4, 10-7.

Boys #2 Doubles Zack Denley and Lane Hlad  placed 5th

In their first round they lost to Piedmont 7-5, 7-6.

They had a bye in their second round and in their 3rd round they defeated El Reno 7-5, 6-1.
