Guthrie woman killed in vehicle accident in Dewey County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a 33-year-old Guthrie woman was killed when she rolled her SUV in Dewey County on Saturday morning.

According to an OHP report, Stephanie Smith was traveling southeast in a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban on U.S. Highway 270, 5.8 miles east of Seiling, when the crash happened at 7:50 a.m.

The trooper’s report goes on to say that Smith, who was not wearing a seat belt, entered a curve, overcorrected to the right, and the vehicle rotated 180 degrees, rolled twice and came to rest on its wheels. She was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at First Christian Church with Reverend Karen Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Summit View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home.
