Intersection claims two accidents in 39 minutes on Tuesday

It’s an intersection that police officers, firefighters and Guthrie motorists know so well when it comes to vehicle accidents. The intersection claimed two more on Tuesday morning with two separate accidents in 39 minutes.

Pine and Noble.

Pine St. and Noble Ave. (Highway 33) to be exact.

Emergency crews were called to the first accident at 6:56 a.m. Just after the wrecker and officers left, the second accident was called in at 7:35 a.m.

Luckily, in both cases there were no major injuries and no one was transported to a hospital.

In both accidents, the drivers at fault were attempting to make turns when they collided with oncoming traffic.

In total, three of the four vehicles involved needed to be towed from the scene.

Many have shared their ideas on limiting the number of accidents at that particular intersection. If you have been involved in a form of accident, for example, a truck accident and are from the Dallas area, you can look into something like Dallas Truck Accident Attorney who can help you obtain the maximum compensation for your injuries and accident-related losses.

Some believe a turn signal would cut back the accidents. Others suggest drivers simply need to pay closer attention behind the wheel.

There are no immediate plans for a turn traffic light and officers with the Guthrie Police Department encourage drivers to obey all traffic laws and be alert of other motorists and pedestrians.

  1. Too many times I’ve seen motorists coming down Noble towards I-35 and not slowing down once at the top of the hill by the light. Instead, they barrel through, regardless of the light color. The worst offenders are the big trucks (10+ wheels). I’ve nearly been hit so many times by these big rigs that are going to fast to be able to stop for the stop light.
