Jays come close to elite 6A schools at Jimmie Austin

The Guthrie Bluejay golf team team put themselves in position to win in a large tournament filled with elite Class 6A programs at the University of Oklahoma’s Jimmie Austin course.

As the Jays made the turn toward the back nine, they found themselves six shots over, but finished 22 over and 13 shots back from the eventual winner (Stillwater).

Junior Luke Morgan finished in the top 10 with a 75 and junior Bo Robbins in the top 15 with a 76.

Luke Roach finished his round with an 80 and both Luke Dale and Brady Hirzel secured an 83.

Guthrie’s team score of 314 was the lowest for all teams below Class 6A.

Stillwater finished at 301 and was followed by Edmond Memorial, Norman, Norman North and Owasso.
