Jays have no problems with Capitol Hill on the diamond

Bookmark and Share

Guthrie Baseball did not have any troubles against a Capitol Hill  team that continues to try to build their program.

Guthrie and Capitol Hill would normally not be on the schedule, but with the addition of district games this season, the games had to be played.

The third ranked BlueJays won the first game 20-0 and the following game 17-0. Both games were played in five innings.

The lopsided wins moved the Jays to 21-4 overall and 11-0 in district one play and with that, the Jays will host a 5A regional come May. If the Jays were to split their district series with the Antlers next week they would win the district and the top seed.

In game one, Landry Chappell picked up the pitching win by allowing no Redskin hits and Cody Reihs got the win in game two.

Bryan Dutton was a combined 6-for-7 with five RBI’s at the plate.

Guthrie will participate in the Deer Creek 6A/tournament this week.
