John Vance Motors teaming up for Meet the Bluejays this Saturday

Come “Meet the Bluejays” and raise funds for the Guthrie Educational Foundation and Guthrie Football Boosters Saturday, August 13 at the Rock.

Guthrie Educational Foundation is teaming up with Guthrie Football Boosters to raise funds for both programs with the “Buick Drive for Your Students” fundraiser, according to Doug Ogle, Executive Director of Personnel/Secondary Education, and Shane Curtin, president of the football booster club.

Up to $10,000 is available through the John Vance Buick test drive, with each driver earning $20 to be shared with the two organizations which will go directly to fund teacher grants in the spring and to help with expenses for the football program.

Each participate must be 18 years of age and have a current driver’s license to participate. Test drives take only a few minutes. They will begin at 2 p.m., across the street from the rock, and continue until 6 p.m. when “Meet the Bluejays” will start inside the Rock. All winter sports will be recognized at the event.

John Vance Motors is also sponsoring a tailgate which will begin at 4:30 before “Meet the Bluejays.” New Bluejay gear will be available and Booster Club memberships can also be purchased. Booster club funds help to feed players after games, charter buses, purchase equipment and in the past have helped offset the expense of state championship rings for the team.

“We would like to thank John Vance for letting us hold the ‘Buick Drive for Your Students’ fundraiser again this year and appreciate his support for Guthrie Public Schools. We encourage everyone to stop by the Rock Saturday between 2-6 p.m. and help both programs raise funds that will benefit our students and teachers,” Ogle said.
