Juvenile arrested after making alleged threats for the first day of school

The Guthrie Police Department has confirmed with Guthrie News Page that a juvenile has been arrested for making alleged threats about the first day of school.

The threats took place on Thursday evening at a Guthrie fast food restaurant.

According to a witness, a Guthrie High School student and restaurant employee continued to repeat “September 4th, September 4th,” which is the scheduled first day of school for Guthrie Public Schools.

When asked about the significance of the date, the male juvenile allegedly said he was planning to harm others.

The manager and employees of the store became concerned and called the police.

Sgt. Jeremy Thorne says officers went to the business to investigate. The investigation led officers to the home, where they found enough evidence to place the teen under arrest.

The incident happened on the same day violence took place at an Oklahoma high school, where a 14-year-old girl was stabbed by a fellow student at Luther High School during an assembly.

Due to the age of the suspect, no other details were made available.
