Keegan Simpson, Gracie Wheeler named Lions Club students of the month

On Monday, Guthrie Noon Lions Club recognized their November students of the month Keegan Simpson and Gracie Wheeler. 

Keegan is the daughter of Crissie and John Simpson.  She is involved in the GHS Band, as well as a wrestling trainer and a member of the National Honor Society.  Keegan is also an active member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She has received the Albert Pike Academic Achievement Award. 

Keegan plans to attend OSU for two years, then transfer to UCO to pursue forensic science.

Gracie is the daughter of Sheri Mueller and Billy Wheeler.  She is involved in the GHS marching band and wind ensemble.  Gracie is a member of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Key Club.  She has received the Albert Pike Academic Achievement Award, Masonic Student of Today award, and is a future valedictorian. 

Gracie plans to attend University of Oklahoma or University of Kansas, majoring in biology, going into pre-med.

Lion Annie Chadd was Lion of the Day and presented as her program, GHS teachers of the year, Justin Gordon and Justin Stevens. 

Both men spoke about the use of technology both in the classroom and in virtual learning.  Lion members asked great questions and these teachers provided informative answers.  GHS counselors Annie Chadd and Stacy Blakemore also talked about helping meet the needs of students during the challenge of the pandemic.
