Lady Jays compete in Public School Championships; regional sites announced

The Guthrie Lady Jays tennis team recently competed in the Class 5A Public School Championships.

The Lady Jays were paced by Cowley County signees in Brianna Berryman and Makaya Coker in No. 1 doubles action with a third place finish.

Freshmen Charli Shelton fared well in her first state tournament appearance with a sixth place finish in No. 2 singles.

In No. 2 doubles action, Lilli Goode and Bailey Beaver placed seventh.

In the tough pool of No. 1 singles, Kiah Thomas placed eighth.

5A Girls – Monday, May 1, 2017

Region I – Cascia Hall – Cascia Hall, Bishop McGuinness, East Central, Metro Christian, Nathan Hale, Pryor, Skiatook, Tahlequah.

Region II – Shawnee – Shawnee, Ardmore, Bishop Kelley, Carl Albert, Edison Prep, McAlester, Oklahoma Christian School, Southeast.

Region III – Duncan – Duncan, Altus, Claremore, Eisenhower, El Reno, MacArthur, Northwest Classen, Piedmont.

Region IV – Heritage Hall – Heritage Hall, Collinsville, Del City, Durant, Guthrie, Memorial (Tulsa),  OK Bible, Western Heights.

5A Boys – Monday, May 8, 2017
