The Guthrie High School girl’s golf team has played in two tournaments on the young season and has placed in the top three in both outings.
Guthrie hosted a tournament on Thursday on the Aqua Canyon course at Cimmaron National Golf Course. With a third place finish, the team finished with three medalists in the top 10.
Rylin Wells shot a 91 to take third place, Emily Beeby shot a 98 to finish seventh and Sue Marie Meshew scored a 100 to take 10th place.
Stillwater’s Lucy Darr took the overall win with a low score of 82 and was followed up by Natalie Blonien’s (of Altus) 85.
Carl Albert took the team win by a storke over Stillwater, 389-390.
Earlier this week, the girls took on Trosper Golf Course in Oklahoma City and finished second in the tournament hosted by Carl Albert.
Head Coach Jason Rice is pleased and excited with his team’s performance so far this season.
