The Guthrie Job Corps Center hosted an Oklahoma Job Corps Coalition Basketball Tournament on April 23rd. Before the basketball tournament, the Langston University basketball team was recognized in an assembly of more than 400 students and staff.
Langston Head Coach Chris Wright and members of his basketball team that recently played for the NAIA National Championship attended and shared inspirational testimonials with the assembly.
Langston’s quest to become the first historically Black college to win a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national championship since 1977 fell short, as the Lions lost to Freed-Hardeman University 71-67 on March 26.
