Langston University student shot on campus

A shooting took place early Friday morning on the campus of Langston University.

University officials said a person was taken into custody after an altercation that occurred off-campus and carried over to campus where the shot was fired.

The suspect has not been identified at the current time and remains unknown if they are a student of the university.

Officials said one student sustained a non-life-threatening injury that was treated at a hospital and later released. The University says they remain in contact with the victim and their family. 

The University stated its police department is conducting the investigation.
