Latest sales tax numbers come in higher than expected for the City

The February sales tax numbers are in for the City of Guthrie. While sales tax dollars were down from January, the February numbers were higher than expected.

The City of Guthrie’s sales tax revenue was up 6.16 percent for February as compared to February of last year.

The City collected $538,315.29, which $430,652.23 went into the General Fund (three percent) and $107,663.06 into the Capital Improvement Fund (three-quarters percent).

Five months into the fiscal year, the City has generated $2.8M in revenue and is an increase of 12.31 percent compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.

City officials announced they are currently 9.57 percent higher than what was projected.
