A grant provided by Lions Clubs International Foundation will allow families affected by the devastating wildfires that swept through the Guthrie and Meridian area on March 14, 2025, to receive emergency relief supplies.
District 3 Northwest of Oklahoma Lions has secured the grant to support cleanup efforts for those who lost their homes in the disaster. Relief kits will be distributed on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Logan County Emergency Management building at 219 South Broad in Guthrie.
The emergency kits are designed to help families begin the cleanup process and include items such as men’s and women’s toiletry kits, sanitary wipes, gloves, a small first aid kit, flashlights, paper towels, trash bags, various-sized totes with lids, face masks, and a heavy-duty contractor bag.
Supplies are limited and will be handed out to the first 20 families affected by the fires. A sign-in sheet will be available on-site.
Local officials and the Lions Club encourage eligible families to come early and take advantage of this generous support as they work to rebuild and recover.
