It was opening day of baseball and softball for the local youth on Monday night. However, it quickly went dark. Literally.
A power outage on Guthrie’s west side cause over 1,400 OG&E customers to go without power, including Owen Fields where the games were being played.
However, where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Sam Clift operates the Guthrie All Sports league and also is an electrical contractor.
Thank goodness.
With some quick work, Clift and his team were able to gather construction lights to illuminate the field.
And for the record, the field was well lit to finish the night.
“We made it happen,” Clift said.
