Local trooper injured in off duty motorcycle accident

A local Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was injured during a motorcycle ride for fallen deputies.

The Pottawatomie County Sheriff said an off-duty OHP trooper was riding with a group when he wiped out as he went around a curve on Saturday.

Trooper Brad Babb, who according to a family friend is in stable condition at a Oklahoma City hospital.

Babb, a Crescent High School graduate, has been with OHP since 2000.

The accident occurred on Highway 102 between the towns of Macomb and Wanette.

Babb’s injuries include a slight brain bleed, broken ribs, bruised lungs and kidneys.

The family friend said the doctors are hoping to start getting Babb up on Monday for his road to recovery.
