Purvis stated, “a volunteer committee, led by Chuck Hayes reviewed the many applications which responded to a request for proposal. The four proposals approved by the United Way Board amounted to over $22,000 and we are very pleased with selections.”

One of the grants was given to Logan Community Services in the amount of $8,069.

“Logan Community Services provides a unique service to children and adults in our county” noted Chuck Hayes. “Their home facility provides a special and safe environment for children and young adults and their outreach program adopts a preventative and early detection of mental health issues for adults and school aged children. By using individual counseling, group sessions and family consultation Logan Community Services has and will continue to make a difference in our communities.”

Jeri Sieber, Executive Director, Logan Community Services, said “we are so grateful for the United Way. We have been a partner agency for a number of years and in this time of reduced support from state funded programs; their funding has made a huge difference in providing mental health and youth protective services in Logan County. This venture grant will allow us to expand our outreach programs and reach individuals and families regardless of their income or insurance eligibilities.  It is a wonderful Christmas present to many residents of our county who are in need.”
