A new generator was lifted into place Wednesday morning at the Logan County Courthouse, ensuring the facility can continue operations in the event of a power outage.
The project was made possible through a Hazard Mitigation Assistance Grant, covering 75% of the total cost. With an estimated price tag of $130,000—including electrical work, a concrete pad, fencing, and the generator itself—the county will be reimbursed approximately $97,500.
The generator was installed on the east side of the building.
The addition of the generator is a significant step in maintaining essential government functions during emergencies, providing continuity of service for residents.
Moving forward, the Courthouse will undergo interior renovations to enhance its judicial capacity as funding allows. The planned upgrades include two additional courtrooms, two jury rooms, and expanded space for the Court Clerk and District Attorney’s offices.
