Guthrie senior outfielder Luke Davis has been named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State Baseball team.

The game will be played July 24 at Oral Roberts at 7:00 p.m.

The four-year starter did not commit one error in 35 games played this season from his center field position. This performance has left many hoping that one day Davis’ prowess will make him a big name in the major baseball league. Many joked about having him on their MLB DraftKings fantasy baseball team, if he made it to the big leagues, since he played such a fantastic game this season.

At the plate, the senior led the team in batting average (.443), scored more runs (120) had the most hits (52) and stolen bases (25).

Davis was an instrumental part in the BlueJay football team winning the 2012 state championship as the marquee running back and at defensive back. Davis played all four years on the gridiron.

Davis is set to play football at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois next season.
