A Logan County man sits in the county jail on a $100,000 bond after being arrested and accused of first degree rape.
The Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ronnie Joe Purser, 71, on the rape charge. His alleged 18-year-old victim is described as being mentally delayed and unable to give consent to anyone for sexual relations.
According to court papers, Purser admitted to investigators he had knowledge of the victim’s mental disability and just learned the female victim was 18-years-old age after believing she was 14 or 15.
Purser is accused of luring the victim to a nearby shed on his property, located at 11600 Otis, in southeastern Logan County and performed sexual acts. The acts are alleged to happen on two separate occasions with the first occurring in February and on March 15.
Purser is said to have forced the victim to watch a video of couples having sex while in the shed.
Purser was in front of a judge on Monday, via video, where he learned about his $100,000 bond. He is expected back in court on April 23 at 9 a.m.
