Man airlifted to OKC hospital after being struck by truck on Division St.

A man was airlifted to an Oklahoma City hospital late Monday afternoon after he was struck by a pickup truck while riding an electric scooter on S. Division Street in Guthrie.

Guthrie police and firefighters were called to the busy roadway shortly after 4:30 p.m. for a collision between Grant and Lincoln avenues.

Emergency responders found the man in the roadway suffering from multiple head injuries. He was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Logan County. From there, he was flown by medical helicopter to an Oklahoma City hospital for further treatment.

According to multiple witnesses at the scene, the pickup was turning southbound from Grant Avenue onto Division Street when the collision occurred with the man on the electric scooter.

Witnesses told Guthrie News Page that it appeared the scooter rider was attempting to cross Division Street in the middle of the roadway when he was struck.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision have not been determined, and the crash remains under investigation by the Guthrie Police Department.

The roadway was blocked for approximately 30 minutes before reopening after 5 p.m.

The man’s condition was unknown as of Tuesday morning.
