Man suffers self-inflicted gun shot wound at fuel station

One person was rushed to a Oklahoma City hospital after what appears he accidentally shot himself while at a Guthrie convenience store.

Just after 2 p.m. on Saturday, emergency crews responded to Murphy USA (located at 1616 S. Division) for a male who had suffered a gun shot wound.

A gray, four-door Ford F-150 pulled up to a gasoline pump. Once the man got out of the vehicle, he somehow triggered his 45 caliber handgun and shot himself in the upper leg.

Guthrie EMS treated the man at the scene and transported him to OU Medical Center.

A female passenger in the truck was later seen talking to police officers about the incident.

The man could be facing legal trouble as he was in possession of a firearm with a reported prior felony conviction.

The Guthrie Police Department continues to investigate the case.
