Mercy Hospital Logan County announces new administrator

Board members of the Mercy Hospital Logan County formally announced the new administrator for the local hospital during the weekly Chamber Coffee.

Hospital board members Courtney McLemore and Kay Davis announced Bobby Stitt as the new leader for the Guthrie hospital.

Stitt will take over (next week) for Josh Tucker, who served as the top hospital official since December 2011.

Tucker accepted another position – outside of Mercy – in the state. Prior to coming to Guthrie, Tucker served as executive director of finance for all of Mercy’s rural hospitals in Oklahoma.

Stitt currently serves as the administrator of Mercy Hospital Watonga and has served in that position since 2012.

“I’m excited to be here,” Stitt told the local business owners and community leaders inside the hospital’s physical therapy room.

Davis informed Stitt, and the gallery, that he will take over a great staff that was assembled by Tucker.

“It’s going to be smooth,” Davis said of the transition.

Stitt is a U.S. Air Force veteran who began his career in health care as a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital Oklahoma City in 2006.

In 2007, he joined Kingfisher Regional Hospital and served as the director of medical/surgical and obstetrics, and then became the hospital’s chief nursing officer.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.
