Motorcyclist injured and air flown to OKC hospital

A motorcyclist was air flown to a hospital after she was forced to take evasive action and laid her bike down to avoid a collision with another vehicle. That vehicle then left the scene.

On Monday, emergency crews responded to Sooner Road just north of Waterloo Road in southern Logan County at 12:45 p.m. for a motorcycle accident.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Dana Cornforth, 50, of Edmond was driving a 2009 Suzuki GXR motorcycle southbound on Sooner Rd. A second vehicle, identified only as being a blue pick up truck, was traveling northbound on Sooner Rd. and began turning left into a private drive and stopped in the southbound lane.

The action forced Cornforth to lay the bike down.

The cause of the collision is listed as an improper turn to enter a private drive.

Cornforth was transported by Air Evac EMS to OU Medical Center. She was admitted in fair condition with head and leg injuries.
