Just two months shy of her 100th birthday, lifelong Guthrie resident Mickey (Miller) Weathers is proving that age is just a number. On Friday, Mickey was spotted cruising down Guthrie’s historic main street in style—riding in a 1928 Model A Ford.
It’s a fitting ride for Mickey, who learned to drive in a 1928 Chevy nearly a century ago.
Now residing at Ash Street Place, Mickey remains remarkably active. On sunny days, neighbors and passersby may catch her walking—unattended—around the block, enjoying the outdoors with the same spirit that’s defined her life in Guthrie.
Mickey is also a regular at three weekly Canasta clubs, where she joins friends for cards and camaraderie. And every Sunday, without fail, she’s in her usual pew at Noble Avenue Baptist Church.
As her milestone birthday approaches, Mickey continues to set an inspiring example of joyful, active living—still connected to her community and embracing every day with grace and grit.
