Connie M. Triplett-Mize
September 07, 1958 – December 29, 2017
Waiting for her arrival were her parents Charles Webster, Felix and Betty Avila, brother Thomas Brumley and step granddaughter Tina Marie Fields and the love’s of her life William Gann (1987) and Melvin William Triplett (2014).
She leaves to cherish her spouse Rick Mize; daughters (and their husbands) Tanya and David Tucker, Betty and Triston Gray, Maria Shetley; her bonus son David and Angie Goble. Her sister Deborah Harrod and brother David Brumley. Grandchildren Izeaha Freeborn, Elijah, McKenna and Saden Tucker, Sebashton Smith, and Temperance Shetley. Along with multiple nephews and nieces and extended family.
Connie lived a beautiful life with multiple ever lasting friendships and loves. When asked days before her passing what her most valuable possessions were she responded with, “my three girls are my most valuable possession’s and accomplishments in my eyes.”
She was loved by so many that adopted her as their bonus mom or Nana. In her younger years she loved to bowl and the friendships that started in the bowling leagues.
Connie worked hard her whole life and became successful. Her favorite work included, Septic Tanks, Guthrie Furniture Factory and buying and remodeling rentals. Her favorite things to do were watching horse races, fishing, cruising on boat rides, playing board games with family, billiards, singing, karaoke and baking.
She did many monthly dinners and hosted years of holiday celebrations for veterans and children of the community at the Guthrie VFW. Her baking skills are unmatched as every one looked forward to her rice crispy treats, fudge and rum cakes to name a few. She enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for any occasion.
Most would describe Connie as an earth angel. She was the first to offer assistance to someone in need no matter the circumstance. She always explained that this is why she had hoarded so many items because someone was going to need it and she wanted to have them ready.
She was a member of the Healing Hearts Church where she, again, donated to those who were in need, or any request from Pastor Paul. Everyone in the community knew Connie had a heart of gold and her faith never wavered as she fought cancer this last year with her grandchildren as her motivation. God was victorious as he said on December 29, 2017 your work on earth is done. Come home sweet angel and she obliged. Her love will be with us forever.
Services will be held at Community Funeral Home on January 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Guthrie VFW.
