Playoff scenario’s for Class 5A-1 in Week 9

With the final two weeks left of the high school football season its time to look at some possible scenario’s as to what may happen this week in Class 5A-1 games.

Caution: Week 9 scenario’s reading can cause headaches. Week 10 scenario’s is generally a little easier to take in.

Week 9 games:
Guthrie at Western Heights, Carl Albert at Deer Creek, Noble at Ada, Southeast at El Reno

Guthrie win – District Champion

Western Heights win – Guthrie district champion with win over Southeast next week; Western Heights would need a win over El Reno (week 10) and would need Ada to lose their final two games to make playoffs.

Carl Albert win and Ada win– Carl Albert is 2nd in district and Deer Creek and Ada play for 3rd and 4th next week. Western Heights eliminated.

Deer Creek win and Ada win –  All three (Deer Creek, Carl Albert, and Ada) could finish 2nd, 3rd, 4th with outcome of Week 10 games and possible point scenario. Western Heights eliminated.

Deer Creek win, Ada loss, and W. Heights loss – Guthrie 1st, Deer Creek 2nd, Carl Albert 3rd, Ada 4th.

Deer Creek win, Ada loss, and W. Heights win – Week 10 scenario’s to follow with three teams (Guthrie, Carl Albert, and Deer Creek) placing from first to third and two teams (Ada and Western Heights) for fourth place.

Week 10 games:
Guthrie at Southeast, Noble at Carl Albert, Ada at Deer Creek, Western Heights at El Reno
