Last Saturday, March 6th, the Guthrie power lift team won their fourth area championship in six seasons, in Cashion, and in the process have qualified seven Jays for state.

Power lift is for athlete’s that are not participating in either basketball or wrestling during the winter season. Guthrie compete’s in the large school classification which is Class 3A and up.
Timothy O’Connor 123, Dustin Bowman 181, Devonte McCully 198, Malachi Galbraith 242, Cody Doyle 242, Blake Belcher 275, and Martel Oates 275 all qualified for state.
The lifters compete in three categories: squat, bench, and dead lift.
