The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce held a public forum for the candidates and the upcoming election for the Senate District seat #20.

An estimated 70 people filled in Guthrie City Hall, Tuesday evening, as they heard what the candidates had to say and their platform for the February 14th special election. The forum was televised on the local government channel (GTV 20).

All five candidates attended the forum including Wayne Murphey, Chris Humphreys, Magnus W.T. Scott Sr., Phil Berkenbile and Ann AJ Griffin.

City Councilman Dr. John Wood mediated the 61-minute forum by asking each candidate for a two-minute introduction, followed by a question and answer session with questions supplied by members of the audience on index cards and finally a two-minute summary to conclude the evening.

Chamber President Mary Coffin was greatly pleased with the turn out and thanked all the candidates for their participation as well as to the City for their help.

Up next, the candidates will attend a public forum next week in Perry.
