The Guthrie Police Department has promoted Officer Quinlan to patrol sergeant following a selection process for the department’s first-line supervisory position.
A pinning ceremony was held Monday evening inside Guthrie City Hall, with several members of the police department, family members, and supporters on hand to recognize the promotion.
The department described the patrol sergeant position as an important leadership role responsible for setting the culture of a shift, enforcing department standards and protecting its integrity.
The promotion also marks a milestone for the department. According to Guthrie Police, Quinlan becomes the department’s first female supervisor since 2004.
“We are proud that Officer Quinlan chose to advance into a leadership role,” the department said in announcing the promotion.
During Monday’s ceremony, recently retired Guthrie Police Lt. Mike Loya joined members of Quinlan’s family in helping with the traditional pinning.
