A request for bottled water to help Logan County firefighters received a major response, with Niagara Bottling donating eight pallets of water to support all 14 fire departments in the county.
Logan County Emergency Management said the donation came together after the office put out a request for bottled water for local fire departments.
Another emergency management office connected Logan County officials with Niagara Bottling in Oklahoma City. After a request form was submitted, the company stepped up with a sizable donation.
In total, Logan County received eight pallets containing 672 cases of bottled water. Based on a price comparison with the same product at a local retailer, Emergency Management estimated the donation was valued at more than $13,000.
The donation allows fire departments to direct money that otherwise might have been spent on bottled water toward other operational needs, including equipment repairs and fuel.
Logan County District 3 assisted with picking up the water and transporting it back to the county. With help from the Logan County Fairgrounds, the cases were then loaded and distributed among the county’s fire departments.
Logan County Emergency Management thanked Niagara Bottling, along with Carrie Spradlin and Skyler Taylor, for helping make the donation possible.
“We can’t thank Niagara Bottling enough for their generosity,” Logan County Emergency Manager Steven Haga said.
The water comes as Logan County fire departments continue to respond to emergencies locally while also assisting with wildfire response efforts elsewhere in Oklahoma.
