For the second time in less than two hours, the Guthrie Police Department worked a three-vehicle accident on S. Division St.
The latest crash came near the intersection of Springer St. just after 5 p.m.
Officers say two vehicles had slowed down for the upcoming traffic light at Harrison St. in the northbound lanes when a white vehicle crashed into the back of one vehicle and as a result crashed into another vehicle.
The front airbag deployed in the vehicle at fault.
Two of the three vehicles were towed from the scene.
Despite the accident, traffic was able to move slowly around the crash.
There were no injuries reported at the scene.
Earlier in the afternoon, a vehicle was rear-ended in the 1200 block and second later the vehicle at fault was hit from behind. Related story: Three vehicle accident slows traffic down on S. Division
When is the City going to do something about the traffic lights in Guthrie? If they can’t afford (as I’ve been told) to get the lights reset where traffic flow is better, then they could put the traffic lights on four-way flashing red. Even the four-way stop would work better than what they have now.
